"Sculpture Journey": Bodrum Golf & Tennis Club, curated by artist and board member Aslı Özok

Situated within the natural landscape of Bodrum Golf Club,
Sculpture Journey is conceived not merely as an open-air
sculpture exhibition, but as a multi-layered encounter between
space, movement, and form. Within this terrain shaped by the
rhythm of sport, sculpture moves beyond its static condition,
becoming a living experience that evolves with the viewer,
transforms over time, and engages in dialogue with its
surroundings.
The works of Ayla Turan and Kemal Tufan enter into dialogue
with the topography of Bodrum Golf Club through their distinct
approaches to material, balance, and void. This placement
goes beyond a simple intervention in nature, proposing instead
a renewed reading of the existing landscape. As visitors move
through the golf course, they follow not only a physical route,
but also encounter continuously shifting layers of meaning
shaped by variations in scale, perspective, and light.
One of the central premises of Sculpture Journey is to expand
the relationship between art and everyday experience. In this
context, Bodrum Golf Club extends beyond its role as a site of
sport and social life, emerging as a platform that supports
cultural production. Rather than inviting the viewer into a
defined exhibition space, the project frames the encounter with
art as an unexpected and fluid experience.
Another key dimension of the project lies in the sustainable
support model developed in collaboration with the Art for Good
Association. By contributing to the production process of a
young sculptor each year, this structure establishes a
framework that supports not only the present exhibition but
also future artistic practices. In this sense, Sculpture Journey
proposes a continuity that engages with both present and
future modes of artistic production.
Shaped by the hosting of Bodrum Golf Club, the works of the
artists, and the contributions of all stakeholders, this integrated
structure invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with
both space and art.
