From Ankara, Turkey, the creator visits the Red Gallery (c/ Peral, 10) to present her work, exhibited alongside the veteran Joaquín Gonzalez, also known as Quino, until December 7.
Born in Ankara, Turkey, on August 16, Asli Ozok felt the need to express herself, as she believed that everyone was moving in the same direction and had a need to consume. Hence, the fish and barcodes that star in her selected paintings for the current exhibition at the Red Gallery. For Asli Ozok, "brands are the icons of this century."
With the intention of showcasing her painting and denouncing "this type of life where everything is bought and sold," this artist inaugurates the exhibition she shares with the veteran Joaquín González, also known as Quino.
Using vibrant colors, she chooses oil on canvas as her preferred technique because it's the one she feels most comfortable working with. To her, art is "my way of living." Her conviction is so clear and resolute that she states, "I cannot conceive life without painting."
She is interested in involving the observer in each of her pieces. Ozok admits that she prefers "to involve them in my work" with their own interpretation of the paintings.
In both Turkey and Spain, from Ankara to Seville, the art world has been influenced by the crisis. However, in this regard, the author reflects on the specificities depending on the place and the various variables that influence the daily reality of the creator. "Art is in a different situation depending on the country you are in." Nevertheless, Ozok faces the issues with optimism. "We have to keep painting and exhibiting so that art continues to be our best way of expressing ourselves and relating to the rest of the world," she comments.
Until December 7, her pieces share the space of this gallery on Peral Street with the veteran Joaquín Gonzalez Quino, who exhibits a collection that began in 1992, influenced by Ortega y Gasset's work "The Dehumanization of Art." According to the author, "I have always been interested in people from a psychological point of view. I like to analyze what surrounds me and make it known through painting, engraving, or any other plastic language." His oil paintings aim to graphically represent "our feelings, creating a world that is sometimes chilling and other times fascinating, because we are so complex." As a creator since the 70s, he believes that "things are almost always wrong in the art world, especially in our complex city and with the economic crisis, which is fundamentally a crisis of values, much worse." He laments not having any support, "not even from the cultural institutions that are supposed to support it."

Con la intención de dar a conocer su pintura, así como denunciar “este tipo de vida en el que todo se compra y se vende” esta artista inaugura la muestra que comparte con el veterano Joaquín González, más conocido como Quino.
De gran colorido, escoge para su trabajo óleo sobre lienzo porque es la técnica con la que se siente más cómodo trabajar, para ella, el arte se define como “mi manera de vivir”. Tan claro y rotundo es el pensamiento que, de hecha aliade. “No concibo la vida sin la pintura”.
Interesada en integrar al observador en cada una de sus piezas. Ozok admite que prefiere “ hacerle partícipe de mi obra” con su propia interpretación de la pintura.
Tanto en Turquía como en España, de forma ankara como Sevilla, la situación en el mundo del arte se ha influenciado por la crisis. Sin embargo en este sentido, la autora reflexiona sobre las particularidades según el lugar donde se encuentre y las diversas variables que influyen en la cotidiana realidad del creador. “El Arte está en una situación diferente según el país en donde te encuentres” Sin embargo, ozok afronta la problemática con optimismo. “Hay que seguir pintando y exponiendo para que el arte siga siendo nuestra mejor forma de expresarnos y relacionarnos con el resto del mundo” comenta.
Hasta el 7 de diciembre sus pizzas comparten el espacio de esta galerie de la calle peral con el veterano Joaquín Gonzalez Quino, quien exhibe una colección que empezó-en 1992 su tfo leyendo la obra de Ortega y Gasset “La deshumanización del arte” según el autor “siempre me interesó el hombre desde un punto de vista psicológico me gusta analizar lo que me rodea y darlo a conocer a través de la pintura, granado o cualquier otro lenguaje plástico. Sus óleos rance con el objetivo de mostrar “nuestros sentimientos gráficamente creando un mundo a veces escalofriante y otras veces apasionante, porque somos así de complejos” creador desde los afios 70s, a su entender, “las cosas como casi siempre están mal en el mundo del arte sobre todo en esta nuestra compleja ciudad y con la crisis económica que fundamentalmente es de valores mucho peor” Lamenta no gozar de respaldo de ningún tipa “no siquierra de las instituciones que se italman culturales.”
